The program has a basic but functionally maintained interface. What really matters is  iDump  interface is intuitive. If a user knows exactly what files he wants to transfer to his PC, iDump will not fail in performing the task quickly and efficiently.

The method of copying files from an iPod to a PC is as simple as it can be. The only thing a user has to do for effective copying is to select all or only chosen audio tracks or movie files in the main window of the program and choose the appropriate directory where the user wants to place the files. After that, a user hits 'Copy' and the task is done.

iDump  is characterized by its simplicity and functionality at the same time. The iDump spreadsheet layout shows all the music available on the user's iPod. The software can generate a list of audio files into a list of songs sorted by song's title, artist's name, and other more specific criteria.

One of  iDump  key features is unattended transfer, which is a very useful tool when dealing with larger iPods.

With the help of  iDump , users can see a list of all the songs included in the selected playlists. The playlist can be exported in the .m3u extension. iDump allows users to create playlists out of chosen files. It also offers the option to create folders of songs sorted by the artist's name and song information.

In addition, iDump performs searching for multimedia files within the overall set of files stored on the user's iPod. A user can search for music by using a keyword, i.e. a song's title, album, artist and genre.

There are three tips to remember about  iDump  to make files transferring effective:

  1. By selecting the audio files on the iPod, a user has to know exactly where he wants to copy them to otherwise it will be harder to find the folder with the files copied from the iPod on the HD.
  2. A user needs to be aware of how much data the iPod can hold in order to fit all the required files.
  3. It is important to note that all the audio files transferred from an iPod to a PC are only the copies of the files and the originals remain on the iPod.

iDump not only gives the ability to copy files from an iPod to a PC, but also to make a backup if required. By transferring the entire library from an iPod to a PC, the user has a backup and can restore lost files if anything happens to the iPod.

In this respect, iDump is a must-have tool for every iPod owner. A simple way of data transferring in a Copy and Paste manner and many nice additional features make iDump one of the most popular software of its kind on the market.
